How I Got Started
Currently based in Dunbar, I am a self taught artist who creates the textures and beauty of nature through embroidery thread. East Lothian provides endless inspiration for my embroidery, with the mix of coast and woodland.

I grew up in rural Central Scotland, surrounded by the countryside with my two sisters, parents and many pets. I often saw my dad with his water colours and table loom and how he experimented with spinning the wool from our sheep.
As soon as I finished my degree in Animal Biology in 2008, I began to experiment with different art mediums. Initially drawn to jewellery making, I then found crochet, weaving and embroidery and haven't looked back.

I enjoy mixing embroidery with other art forms, especially painted backgrounds for meadows and gardens as well as needle felt to create form for insects. I use locally bought cotton and linen for my embroidery and high quality thread.
I can be found at the West End Fair in Edinburgh in August as well as the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh at Christmas. I enjoy taking commissions so please message me for more details.

I also run beginners embroidery workshops that cover up to 12 stitches as well as guidance on starting a kit that you can then take home to finish. More details can be found on my 'Workshop' page.
